An Overview of Regenerative Detoxification

Regenerative Detoxification is a healing practice that brings us out of states of dis-ease by utilizing nature’s most precious gifts — fruits, herbs, fasting, and rest.

Regenerative Detoxification is the simplifying of the diet, the surrendering of attachment, and connecting back to nature. It is the cleansing of the body, mind, and spirit. Modern life and human advancement have given us so many gifts, but it has pulled us away from our natural rhythms as human-animal beings. The process of Regenerative Detoxification is designed to bring you back in touch with who you REALLY are, so much more than just your physical body.

Regenerative Detoxification, simply put, is cleaning out the lymphatic system.

The lymph system is the body’s sewer system; the body’s detox pathways. The skin, kidneys, lungs, liver, and digestive system are all a part of the body’s elimination system, and these organs can easily become overburdened in today’s world. My teacher Dr. Robert Morse reminds us that there are two fluids in the human body — blood and lymph. Blood feeds the cells and the lymph carries away the waste. Whatever eats has to eliminate, right? The lymph system is the elimination transportation and we do not want that system to stagnate, we don’t want that waste backing up and hanging around in the body!

There are two sides to chemistry — acid and alkaline.

The body thrives in an alkaline environment, you may have heard this before. Think about it, what do acids do? They burn and corrode. Waste is inherently acidic and hot. When the body is backed up with stagnant waste, it begins to destroy and deteriorate from within. This can show up as minor inconveniences or it can show up in major ways — think cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, acne, Crohn’s disease, eczema, emphysema, and the like. Fruit, herbs, greens, and raw vegetables are all alkaline when ingested by the human body. Some cooked foods are non-mucus forming or “mucus lean,” meaning they are not acidic or mildly acidic in the body, and for more information on that I recommend reading The Mucusless Diet Healing System by Prof. Arnold Ehret.

Fruit has so many wonderful properties that make it the perfect human food, especially during times of sickness and dis-ease.

Fruit is hydrating, helping to restore each cell’s natural function. The human body is made up of over 70% water, and MOST of us are chronically dehydrated! The best way to hydrate is with living, structured water, and fruit is full of it. As fruit hydrates the digestive tract it helps to gently pull toxic waste off the walls of the intestines. Cooked food encourages the body to create mucus to help move it out of the body because it is so drying and it leaves residue along the intestines known as mucoid plaque. Astringent fruit — citrus fruits, pineapple, persimmons, grapes, anything that is slightly tangy — helps to pull waste out of the cells, think about how citrus-y GooGone cleans up sticky messes. The soft, juicy fibers of the fruits help to sweep out the waste and toxins. Fruit is also the easiest food to digest and assimilate. It takes little to no energy for the body to break down and digest fruit. Complex meals, animal products, oils, fats, sugars, and anything processed and packaged takes so much energy for the body to digest. Have you ever felt tired or fatigued after a meal? We can actually expend more energy digesting a meal than we get from it!

Let’s talk about herbs — nature’s medicine!

Herbs help to further the process of detoxification and strengthen specific glands and organs, and herbs can help heal on a spiritual level. Sometimes glands and organs need a little boost to get the regeneration process started, and that is where herbs come in. There is so much to say about herbs, as there are hundreds of thousands of healing herbs available to us — a gorgeous gift from Mother Earth. We talk a lot about herbs in Regenerative Detox, and I include a list of recommended herbs to help you reach your goals when you schedule an Iridology Analysis or Regenerative Detox coaching.

Juicing is a wonderful accompaniment to detox.

It further hydrates the body and helps waste move along. Fasting on juices and perhaps even water (under guidance) could be a helpful component to your experience.

Rest is an integral part of this process.

You will need plenty of rest in order for cells to regenerate. Sleep and intentional rest (such as restorative yoga, yoga nidra, and energy work like Reiki) will support you deeply on your journey!

Practicing Regenerative Detox has personally saved my life; it has brought me lasting and true healing from chronic illness and disease.

Before practicing this lifestyle and embarking on deeply detoxing and cleansing my body, I was in a constant state of not feeling well, and often being so sick I would be admitted to the hospital. IBS, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, chronic upper respiratory infections, endometriosis, acne, eczema, chronic fatigue, and memory issues plagued me. It was rare for me to feel happy and healthy until I discovered the natural healing possibilities through simplifying my lifestyle and connecting to nature. I’m passionate about helping others move out of the darkness of dis-ease and into the light of a vibrant life!

I have studied and completed certification courses in Level 1 Regenerative Detoxification, Level 2 Regenerative Detoxification, and Lymphatic Iridology all through the International School of the Healing Arts with Dr. Robert Morse, N.D. in person in Punta Gorda, Florida.
